Zohran Mamdani Promises a 'New Era' for New York City in Inaugural Speech

An Unprecedented Figure
The young democratic socialist, who was a virtually unknown state assemblyman, now stands as the city's first mayor of South Asian descent. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
